For George

While I wont call myself the biggest basketball fan- the finals are going on. Tonight the Mavs have a chance to put down the Heat and make their bunch of 30+ yr old players happy with rings to go around.

So far the biggest difference has been seen because of the maturity of the teams. The mavericks are playing as a team with a focus to be the best together. As well along with that the lack of maturity in the leadership for the Heat has been so blatantly bad its funny. You'd think Lebron, wade. or bosh would be able to demand the respect settle there team down and focus on the win but they havent.

Lebron james talking about it being his time to step up then right before the game makes fun of the Dirk thats just childish and low in front of the cameras. I will say that has swayed my opinion in this match up and hope the Mavs put it away. Before this I could honestly say it wasnt a big deal to me either way but the lack of maturity and inability for the Heat to step up and be "bigger men" has swayed my support to the Mavs. They have played respectfully,  maturely and as a team. The way they have played on and off the court to has them deserving this title and look forward to that honor being brought to the great state of Texas. Goes to show you superstars are great and all but you need a team and passion to be truly great.

Go Mavs

A major missing piece for the Longhorns just comitted, when I saw this post I was fired up!! Estelle a 6' 7" LT will bring the horns an desperately needed body as well as one who should develop into a name that will be called in the first round of the NFL draft in 4ish years from now.

Down to the beach

Hey guys down to the beach for a little bit here to enjoy some time away to relax, recover, and reflect. If your reading this here is an awesome scripture to read thru.

Psalms 116:7 Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.
8 For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death,
   my eyes from tears,
   my feet from stumbling,
9 that I may walk before the LORD
in the land of the living.
10 I believed; therefore[b] I said,
   “I am greatly afflicted.”
11 And in my dismay I said,
   “All men are liars.”
12 How can I repay the LORD
for all his goodness to me?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the LORD.
14 I will fulfill my vows to the LORD
in the presence of all his people.

Vikings

Another one of those whether you liked the pick or hated it as most did. The Vikings went ahead and picked oft injured Christian Ponder with a top 15 pick in the NFL draft. While many have seen this as a horrific mistake we will have to let it play out. Its good to see him stepping up and setting up team work outs for a team he isnt even being paid by yet because of this offseason nonsense. I wish him the best

Never thought I'd see the day but this Favre like era of Shaq has ended. Not that this move was this surprising but the 19th season vet  15-time All-Star, four-time champion and the 2000 NBA Most Valuable Player, has opted to leave basketball as his body just cant continue at the high level and approaching 40 yrs old. Boston fans know it best as they saw collapse of their normally dominant defense following the loss of the big man. Whether or not you liked or disliked shaq you have to respect what he has brought to the NBA from the good to the ugly (free throw shooting)
